For All Vendetta Veterans
Hi All,
As previously advised the Association has planned for a
plaque to be mounted and dedicated at the Australian War Memorial (AWM) to
recognise the service of HMAS Vendetta (1958-79) and her crews on Friday, 14
October 2011 at 1400.
The planned text to go on the plaque is at the final
draft stage and is awaiting final approval before the casting is ordered.
The Qld and NSW Divisions of the Association have agreed on the text
and it has been examined by the AWM Military History Section and amended to be
consistent with the AWM’s editorial style.
A copy of this final draft
is attached.
We would now like to confirm with all interested Vendetta
Veterans and groups elsewhere that the proposed text is agreed.
All comments or suggested amendments to the proposed
plaque text must be lodged with the Vendetta Veterans Association (Qld) by
close of business Friday, 12 November 2010.
This can be done via any of the following means and non-replies will be
considered as acceptance of what is proposed.
