Today's CM
quotes Joe Ludwig MP as saying "The
Rudd Govt already has a strong track
record of reform in parliamentary
entitlements cutting the printing
allowance by half and agreeing to publish
all expenditure by Federal MPs"!
What utter
subterfuge by a Labour politician!
What Ludwig fails to mention is that this
current review of Federal Parliamentary
entitlements and salaries is looking at
raising the yearly salaries of all back
benchers! This will give all Federal MPs a
large yearly pay rise and additionally
will give all pre 2004 parliamentarians a
huge financial rise via lucrative and
immoral indexation of their parliamentary
superannuation entitlements, when and if
they decide to retire, via these proposed
increases to a back bencher's salary!
Meantime all ex Commonwealth employees
have to make do with CPI indexation
increases to their paid-for superannuation
entitlements, whilst Centrelink customers
receive indexation to their taxpayer
funded entitlements via MTAWE or
PBLCI, much higher and lucrative index
figures and for something they have not
paid for?
