Australian Navy in Attention:
Mr. Peter Denver I wish to express my sincere
thanks for the dedicated and patient assistance that I received through your
association during the pursuit of my claim against the DVA. Through the efforts of the loyal
and unflappable Trevor Robbins over the last couple of years as we jumped
through all the hoops that the Department could throw at us, I have finally
received a Decision in my favour. Reaching that point has brought much relief
for me and for the family now that the stress of that process is over. I will always remember with
gratitude the knowledge, moral support and calm confidence that Trevor
displayed. As an ex‑Army veteran I can only say he was a damned good
Digger to have on my side during that stoush. Many thanks mate! I also wish to record my
appreciation in general for the work of your Association. Each time I read your
Newsletter I can only admire all the people involved for their loyalty to their
mates and to the needs of all veterans ‑ all in the face of criticism from
some unhappy people who are perhaps still struggling with their demons (as we
all do) and who appear to have turned their anger upon the wrong people. Let's
all hope they will eventually come to understand. In opening your services to all
who may come to you, you show the great heart of the genuine Aussie that we all
wish was more common in today's world. I hope you will all continue to draw
strength from the appreciation of people like me and push on despite those who,
for what ever reason, are unable to appreciate your efforts. Please accept the donation
enclosed to support the work of the Association ‑ a receipt would be
useful. Please also pass on to Trevor the parcel accompanying this letter, with
my compliments ‑ for him to enjoy and share with some good company of his
choice. (Trevor ‑lay it down to
settle for at least a couple of weeks after its journey.) Many thanks and best wishes to
all at the Association. W E (Bill) N
The Secretary Attached please find my donation to support the cause with my hope that it will help a little. Yours faithfully
